A Time to Give Thanks

It's hard to believe that we're already talking about Thanksgiving, but I'm thankful for this yearly reminder to pause and give thanks to God for all the many blessings we have received (and often take for granted). I hope you'll take some time this month to do that.

I'm also thankful for all that God is doing in and through our church, and I wanted to remind you about some of what's coming up this month. We're continuing to gather pledge cards through the 15th (and thanking God for all that's being pledged). On Saturday the 7th, we'll be having our next planning meeting to talk about and schedule events and classes for the winter and spring (starting at 9am and going no later than 2pm; lunch will be provided). Sunday the 8th will be our next Adult Forum, and I'll be sharing about the conference's Preachers: Rest, Work, Play initiative, which I am a part of.

And on the 26th we'll be hosting our annual Thanksgiving outreach dinner. We look forward to sitting and eating with people who either don't have anyone local to celebrate with, or who wouldn't be able to cook a turkey dinner for themselves. Our biggest need for this outreach is church members who can sit among our guests, chat with them, and make them feel welcomed and cared for; so, if you don't already have other plans, please consider helping out. We'll also be announcing other opportunities to help out with donations and set up or clean up throughout the month.

Finally, I'm thankful for all of you, and all that you're doing for and through our church, and I look forward to seeing you at these and other events!
